Open Question: I was approved for SSDI but have to wait for Medicare until 04/2013?

The state of Florida does not allow SSDI recipients to receive Medicaid so I have no coverage for my COPD and BP/heart meds totaling almost $550/month or any kind of healthcare, The money I receive is going to rent, utilities and food so I feel I was actually screwed by getting this.
